This is one of the popular sizes of the Laskey horn mouthpiece lineup, and
w
as
made in the shop of Scott Laskey prior to the sale of the remaining stock of mouthpieces to Pope Horns. This size is no longer available from Pope, and in my research I haven't been able to discover any retailer with this mouthpiece presently in stock.
The specs from promotional material are:
Rim inner diameter - 17.5 mm
Cup Depth - J - Shallow:
is slightly more shallow than our G cup. It offers brilliance but with a bit rounder and sweeter sound. A bit more conic shape than our other cups, yet it has all the brilliance and bite a player may want.
Throat
- .182"/("14")/4,62mm.
This mouthpiece, in excellent condition, was purchased for trial and has never had regular use. The silver plate is intact and it feels smooth on the lips. It has some micro scratches, but I don't see any nicks, and it has some moderate insertion marks. The bore and backbore are clean and the shank straight.
